678 Technology Blog/Online Learning Post
This post is to relfect the artifacts that I have created throughout 678 and what knowledge I have gained from completing these assignments. These artifacts represent only a small portion of the different technologic platforms that I have came to learn while taking part in 678.
Artifact #1
Below you will find my first artifact, a professional learning presentation on PBL. For this assignment I needed to create a Professional Learning experience to not only educate my collegues on the topic of PBL, but also make this learning experience engaging to keep the attention of my peers.

This assignment expanded my thinking besides teaching the information. It made me think of different ways to keep peers engaged. Additionally, it made me realize that there are a lot of times where teachers zone out during lectures or professional meetings, simply becasue the way the material is being presented after a long day of work, can't keep the attention of educators. Really, it is the presenter who keeps the attention of the audience...as long as you're motivated, have engaging activities, and truly want to be presenting the audience is able to feed off of those vibes and it will translate into a more engaged lecture/presentation.
Artifact #2
Below you will find my second artifact, a device management slidedeck. This slidedeck includes all other of my classmaters slides as well. For this assignment we had to think of ways to help our students rememeber that their devices are a privlidged and should not be used to play games during learning time. It is a learning device, not a free time device.

This assignment really got me thinking on how I could help my students understand that their chromebooks should be used more for learning than watching youtube or playing games. I teach in a self-contained specical education classroom. A lot of the time, my students will be on their devices taking a break and have a hard time transitioning from youtube to googleclassroom. However, this assignment taught me that I should have chromebook rules posted around the classroom so they understand how to be responsible with their learning tool. In addition, this assignment help me see how other educators are managing their devices within their learning space. There are a lot of different and fun ways to incorporate device management into your classroom and misuse of the devices can become a headache for teachers. Make sure you have some sort of rules set up for your classroom when you're using technology.

I can appreciate your thoughts on PD and your efforts to create an engaging and useful PD on PBL.
