677 Technology Blog/Online Learning Post

This post is to relfect the artifacts that I have created throughout 677 and what knowledge I have gained from completing these assignments. These artifacts represent only a small portion of the different technologic platforms that I have came to learn while taking part in 677.

Artifact #1
Below you will find my first artifact, an audio recording of a short story that I created. For this assignment, we needed to create an audio recording that we could use within our classroom. I teach SPED. Within my classroom we teach cooking lessons. This audio recording is a short story, which incorporates how to cook waffles...

Reflection:
This assignment really helped me incorporate audio within my classroom. A lot of the time I would be the one reading and then would have to re-read the story with my students...Now that I learned I could incorporate audio within my class, I can post my recordings onto google classroom and my students will have the ability to go back into the recording and answer the comprehension questions that go with you reading at the same time. This has not only become a time saver, but students are being exposed to more and more readings. I would highly suggest you try to incorporate audio within your classrooms.

Artifact #2
Below you will find my second artifiact, a video trailer of a vocational task that we complete within my SPED program. This assignment was to get us thinking about different ways to get our students motivated and exicted to be part of whatever lesson we are about to teach. I choose a vocational task, becasue most of my students do not like to complete work, however, with a different way of introducing the task, I was able to have those same students become more interested and actually more willing to complete the task.

Reflection:
This was another GREAT assignment that allowed me think outside the box. WIthin the SPED world visuals should be used on a daily basis. This assignment has prompted me to start using video models for ALL of the tasks we complete on a daily basis. I want to compile a video archive for all different tasks we complete...work, daily living skills (hand washing, brushing teeth, getting dressed, etc). Then I want to post this video archive on a resource where students will be able to access each video on their own, watch the video prior to doing the task, and then complete the task. This video modeling will surely allow students to achieve more independence and improve their skills.
